A tribute paid to Hangal saab organised by IPTA Mumbai at Prithvi theatre 0n 27th sept . Tributes were paid by the theatre and film community. Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar talked about their association with Hangal saab. President Sulabha Arya remembered Hangal Saab and shared her experiences while General Secretary Nivedita Baunthiyal talked about Hangal ssab's contribution to IPTA and that he is and would always be a great source of inspiration to the younger generation. Nivedita Baunthiyal said that she along with other members promises Mr Hangal that they all would keep on working in the true IPTA spirit and would follow the path shown by Hangal saab. Nivedita Baunthiyal also read out a page from Hangal Saab's autobiography MAIN EK HARFANMAULA. A K HANGAL..
A piece from the play Shatranj Ke Mohre was enacted by Shri Aanjjan Srivastav. That role was played by Hangal Saab earlier. Aanjjan ji talked about his association with Hangal Saab. Actress and singer Ila Arun paid tributes to Hangal Saab and said Hangal Saab was a father figure for her. Hangal Saab's only son Shri Vijay Hangal talked about his father and later Mr Kabir Bedi read out a poem written by Shri Vijay Hangal for his father Shri A K Hangal. IPTA choir sang 2 songs from its music album VAKO NAAM KABEER led by IPTA Patron and music director Kuldip Singh.
