Film and Television Institute of India-FTII is an institute of knowledge and learning. The Chairman, thus, must be a person having deep knowledge of history of filmmaking, history of world theatre, of Indian history, culture and tradition, of essence of Ganga-Jamuni culture, and should have the aptitude of imparting learning to the student. Merely being a member of RSS or BJP, or having acted in a soap opera do not make him fit for the position of Chairman of FTII.
Indian People Theater's Association (IPTA) pledges its full support to the student of FTII and to their demand of removal of Gajendra Singh Chauhan from the Chairmanship of FTII.
Ranbir Singh
President IPTA National Committee
