On the eve of the centenary celebration of veteran Bollywood actor Late Sri Balraj Sahani, various competition programmes was organized by IPTA Cuttack, among school children starting from Nursery to 12th standards on 29th September 2013.The competition was held at Mahamaya M E School, Uchha Sahi, Kesharpur, Cuttack. It included Fancy dress, Drawing, Song, Dance and Debate competitions.
The programme started by 8 am in the morning and continued till 5.30 pm in the evening. All the participants reached by 9am.IPTA Executive member Mr. Nikunj Bhutia welcomed all the Participants, volunteers, and Jury members to the venue place.
Though it was heavy rain throughout the day and the City was under heavy flood an encouraging number of participants dared the weather and reached the venue place. Some 40 girls and boys belonging to 21 different educational Institutions of Cuttack took part in all the categories of the competition.
Before the 29th programme, IPTA activists campaigned and approached about 50 educational institutions to take part in the competition. There could be even more participation if there was no examination in some schools and colleges.
The program was coordinated by Sri Susant Mahapatra, Nikunj Bhutia,Laxmidhar Dash,Mr. Simon,Laxmidhar Mahalik,Binod Behera,Ashok Das,Indrajeet Ghose, Bipin Padhi,Laxmi Karmakar, Bina Karmakar,Niharika Das,Hitesh Sharma, Miss. Harsha Samantray, Miss Sradha Priyadarsini Mishra, Samhati Mahapatra, Suresh Majhi, Premanada Swain, Tapas Ghose and secretary Krishnapriya Mishra.
All the winners and participants will be honored on 19th Oct 2013 in a separate function at Kala Vikash Kendra Cuttack. The result will be declared on that day only. Those who secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position will be honored with a trophy and certificate while all other participants will be given a certificate of participation.The president Mr. Puranjan Roy and state secretary Sri Ramesh Padhi joined and encouraged all the volunteers and participants. Tea, Tiffin and Lunch was served to volunteers and Jury members by IPTA.
At the end Secretary Krishnapriya Mishra thanked all participants, to all volunteers, all Jury Members, to management of the Mahamaya M E School, its head Master Mr, Dukhishyam Das. She also invited all members present to attend the 19th October programme at Kala Vikash Kendra for Balraj Sahani Centenary Celebration.
